We plan, fund, build and maintain assets that protect our communities, productive land, the main trunk, state highways, roads and other essential infrastructure from flooding. Our flood schemes are made up of various assets that can include stopbanks, floodgates, pump stations, spillways and channels. Each scheme has performance or design levels – from 1 in 100-year events down to 1 in 10-year events – that have been agreed with the communities directly in need.
Improving water quality, enhancing the health of our coastal and marine ecosystems, protecting and restoring our unique native plants and animals and the ecosystems they live in, keeping people safe on our roads and waterways as well as from floods and other hazards, and providing passenger transport services.
We do all this, and more.
