About the proposal

RS Sand Limited has lodged an application with Waipā District Council and Waikato Regional Council to establish and operate a mineral extraction activity (sand quarry) at Newcome Road, Cambridge.

Resource consent application with Waikato Regional Council

Consent application APP145695 was lodged with Waikato Regional Council on 18th May 2023.

Resource consent application with Waipa District Council

RS Sand Limited also lodged an application with Waipā District Council to establish and operate a mineral extraction activity (sand quarry). The quarry is proposed to extract up to 400,000 tonnes (T) of sand per year (depending on demand) for approximately 25 years. The quarry is made up of a 23-hectare pit area towards the western boundary and a 4-hectare plant area (for processing and stockpiling) to the east of the pit.
