National policies and regulations - regional resource management functions
In addition to Waikato Regional Council’s regional policies and rules, we are also required to implement nationally applicable policies (“National Policy Statements (NPS)”) and rules (“Regulations” and “National environmental standards” (NES)).
Below is a list of the NPSs, NESs and Regulations that apply to regional resource management functions and which are required to be observed and implemented by Waikato Regional Council. Information on these can be found on the Ministry for the Environment (MfE) Manatū Mō Te Taiao website.
