The Natural Heritage Partnership Programme (NHPP) provides funding for individuals and community groups to undertake projects to enhance the environment. It is funded by the Natural Heritage rate of $15 per property and the NHPP Funding Policy outlines what can be funded.

There are three funds available:

  • Natural Heritage Fund (NHF) – multi year, large projects (>$40,000)
  • Environmental Initiatives Fund (EIF) – multi year, medium projects (up to $40,000)
  • Small Scale Community Initiatives Fund (SSCIF) – one year, small projects (<$5,000)

The objectives of the Natural Heritage Partnership Programme are:

  • Increasing positive biodiversity outcomes across the region.
  • Supporting the community to develop and lead their own biodiversity projects.
  • Inspiring and educating people in the region to either be involved or supportive of biodiversity work and to understand and place value on it.
