Council meetings
Council responsibilities
Council is Waikato Regional Council’s primary decision-making body.
Comprised of all elected councillors, it provides governance and strategic leadership for the region, setting direction and making decisions on significant matters such as rates, long-term planning, policy, and organisational performance. Council also ensures the organisation fulfils its responsibilities under the Local Government Act 2002 and other legislation.

Livestreams provide an overview of the proceedings of the meeting and are not intended to clearly identify on all occasions who is speaking or other details. The meeting is webcast from one fixed position and does not move to each speaker or zoom in and out.
