Committee responsibilities

Te Kōpu Kānapanapa is responsible for supporting the long-term environmental, cultural, and spiritual health of the Taupō Catchment. Its role includes setting and overseeing Te Kaupapa Kaitiaki, advising councils and agencies, supporting integrated catchment management, participating in statutory processes, and taking other actions it considers appropriate to achieve its purpose.

Refer section 170 of the Ngāti Tūwharetoa Claims Settlement Act 2018.

Te Kotahitanga o Ngāti Tuwharetoa Trust: 

Taupō District Council: Cr Ngāhuia Foreman, Cr Steve Manunui

Waikato Regional Council Members: Cr Mich'eal Downard, Cr Kataraina Hodge.

Alternate Committee Members: Cr Rachel Cameron, Mayor John Funnell (Taupō District Council), Cr Robert Cookson (Waikato Regional Council).
